CariBash is the Austin Caribbean Cultural Exchange's spin on a Trinidadian-style Carnival celebration, complete with Mas Bands, costumes, Caribbean eats, and the sweet sounds of Soca. Our first CariBash will take place in March 2017.
We've teamed up with Large Up, the Caribbean lifestyle brand that brought Austin Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Mr. Vegas, and Gyptian, to co-host SXSW's ultimate Caribbean showcase, Austin Island. In 2017, we plan to up the ante by adding on Austin's twist on a Caribbean Carnival, which we've dubbed CariBash. We'll start the parade on Sixth Street during the height of SXSW and culminate at our Caribbean showcase, Austin Island. Caribbean Carnivals are all about the stage, and we thought it could get no better than putting on Austin's Carnival during one of the largest musical festivals in the world. Parade registration will open in late November; so, enter your information under the "I want to be a masquerader' in the Participate section below to receive updates!
